Well, I'll be leaving for Peiraias to be leaving for Samos in a little while -- and I didn't even get to comment on the last couple chapters of HBP. Perhaps I will from Samos if I find the time to do so-- but since I won't be taking the book with me, only if I also find an online version of HBP.
In the meanwhile two bits of news that made fannish-me happy:
* Arabella of Sugarquill has been updating her "Hermione, Queen of Witches" series to cover Order of the Phoenix... That's a story of hers I've really enjoyed, the events of the books as retold by Hermione to a magical diary. Here is beginning of 5th year -- even though unfortunately Arabella says the 5th year won't be complete (she had almost abandoned the story, and is now going to scam her way out of needing to write most of it :-)
* Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters -- a freeware fanmade remake version. I've not had the time to play it to the end but I've liked it lots so far: I understand why
adamcadre called it one of the best games ever. *g* In my currently-played game (not to be completed for many months, alas, given how I'm heading for Samos) I'm afraid I may have put it into an unsolveable stage: I delayed too long with dealing with a crisis and the Kohr-ah Ur-quan have gone into a genocidal rampage and seem to have annihilated half the galaxy already. *g* May need to load saved games from earlier on to correct this.
As a sidenote, anyone else thinks that both Bleach #41 and #42 had extremely fan-servicey moments? Not that I'm complaining but I think it's one of the few times the series indulges.
Anyway, next post of mine will be from Samos. See you.
