You know... last few days I've supported same-sex marriages in a dominantly conservative forum, discussed and defended the historicity of the character of Jesus in Usenet, and ended up strongly arguing (in a Tolkien newsgroup from all places) that (yes, Victoria) the American Civil War was indeed about slavery despite modern-day revisionists who say it was about "state's rights": Slavery was the only "states' right" it was about.

And yesterday, I watched the "debate", wrote the ramble, and spent quite a bit of time going through PASOK's site and reading positions and bios of candidate MPs, to figure out whom I'm gonna vote for...

Even for me, this is politics overload. I think I'll be calling it quits till after the elections. :-) See ya then.

Ari I saw the debate on ERT-SAT through the web and I think George Papandreou was NOT good... If I were in Greece I would have been seriously tempted to vote for Karamanlis (and you know me, I voted for Simitis 4 years ago.) Anyway, I'm posting here to ask you, is Thlemaxos off to the army? Where? Greek borders? How is he, do you know?

autaaaa.

As I said in my previous post, yeah, I also agree that Papandreou didn't look good in the debate... A shame. But ND's primary advantage is that people got rather bored of PASOK, I think, not that they actually don't trust or like Papandreou. If ND wins now, this "boredom" criterion will have severely diminished by next elections, and (unless Karamanlis proves a far worthier PM than I give him credit for) Papandreou may get an easy victory then.

I'm afraid that I've not talked to Tilemaxos in some weeks -- I'm guessing you know about as much as I. I've hardly made any contact with friends this past month, alas...
