1. Are you named after anyone?
My maternal grandfather, also called Aristotelis. Many *many* Greek people are named after their grandparents, a custom which I for one am NOT going to follow, if I ever have kids.
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already?
Girl names only. I like "Athena" -- my favourite goddess, of human wisdom and technology and crafts and civilisation. And I like the names "Eirini" and "Niki" also. Call them Irene and Nickie in English. Peace and Victory, hey.
As for boy names, none spring to mind. I like the English "Peter", but not its Greek equivalent "Petros". Perhaps because the connotations of the former in my mind come from Peter Pan (see the icon! :), while the latter reminds me of the apostle instead.
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex, what would your name have been?
"Ioanna" almost certainly, after my paternal grandmother -- or so my dad once told me. Greece is not only ancestor-worshipping, it seems to also have a patriarchical precedence thingy going on there.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
*blink* Not a question I've ever thought about, and I wonder why. No clue.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/your name constantly?
My last name, when seen without its accent, is often wrongly pronounced "kaTSAris" or "KAtsaris", instead of the correct "katsaRIS".
And I'm sure most foreigners seeing my first name will probably be thinking my first name to be pronounced "Eh - riz" or something, instead of the correct "AH - rish".
